Term 3, Week 7

Hi parents,

Happy days with the weather like it is. I hope you had a great weekend in the outdoors.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK
“A father is someone you can look up to no matter how tall you grow.”

FATHER’S DAY BREAKFAST
Just a reminder that the Father’s Day Breakfast is this Friday. It would be great to see as many dads as possible. If you can’t make it, rest easy knowing that I will take good care of your bacon and egg roll!

SHOEBOX GIFT
Your child received a letter last week explaining the ‘Shoebox Gift’ tradition at Our Lady of the Cape. Please click on the following link for some more information and possible gift ideas. Gifts need to be in by the end of next week.

This week, our reading focus is ‘synthesising’. Synthesising is about adding what you’ve read, to all the knowledge that’s already in your brain and coming up with a better understanding of a particular topic. We most often synthesise when we read non-fiction texts.

The children are currently writing the final copy of their information report.

NUMERACY FOCUS
This week, we will be learning about ‘interpreting data’.

3. Times Tables: Revise (x8)
4. Look, Say, Cover, Write, Check
The following tasks are only required to be completed once:

1.    Physical activity (includes team or club sport, dancing etc) - 15mins

When a task has been completed, your child is required to tick it off in the diary.

Enjoy the week,

Hi parents,

I hope you had a great weekend with the little rays of sunshine bursting through yesterday! If the yellow flowers on the side of the road are anything to go by, Spring is just around the corner.
