HOME LEARNING FOLDERS / ITEMS
Could parents please remind their child to bring their home learning folders to and from school everyday. The home learning folder should include their mental maths, reader, spelling journal and LSCWC pad.

As half the year has already gone, so has a lot of the children’s school items. Could you please make sure that your child’s pencil case has ample writing equipment etc…

TREE PLANTING
The Year 3’s and 4’s will be involved in a tree planting afternoon on Wednesday. If your child has a pair of gumboots and a pair of gloves, could they please bring them to school in a bag. There is a possibility of rain, so a rain jacket might be a good idea as well.

The trees being planted will hopefully provide homes for a number of possums in the future.

CROSS COUNTRY
Just a reminder that some Year 3 students will be representing OLC at the Interschool Cross Country in Bunbury. Good luck to those students involved.

PARENT ROSTER
The parent roster or Term 3 is up on the whiteboard. Thank you in advance.

LITERACY FOCUS
This week, our reading focus is ‘determining importance’. Determining importance is important because it’s impossible to remember every word we read. By thinking only about the facts or messages that are important, we can remember the ‘big idea’ of the text.

For the next few weeks, we will be learning about the structure and language features of information reports. This week, we are writing about Dunsborough.

NUMERACY FOCUS
This week, we will be learning about ‘multiplication mental strategies.
